It's good news that you have received a region. Congratulations! And I agree that it's not coincidence that you have been studying Chernobyl and now you are placed there. I just read an article about a girl that had been adopted near that area. You may have seen it if you're still doing google alerts on 'Russian adoption'. She had some defects from the radiation and her mother gave her up, but now she is a paraolympic champion swimmer here in the US. Very inspiring.

Wow! I felt like I was there for a minute! :) Congrats on your region. It's kind of funny how exciting it is to be able to look at map and see where your children are (also amazing to see how far AWAY it is!). I have a map of Russia printed out with a big arrow pointing to Tyumen which is where our daughter is.
